The officer Office announced the launch of an investigation into the shooting of a pit bull by one of its officers
The officer Office announced the launch of an investigation into the shooting of a pit bull by one of its officers early Thursday morning. Two KCSO officers responded to 10421 Thorngrove Pike on a hang-up call to 911 shortly before 5 a.m. according to investigators.
Authorities said three unrestrained dogs ran from the back of the property with one pit bull charging the officers and that’s when one officer shot the dog and killed it.
KCSO officials said body cam video shows what happened and captured conversations with the dogs’ owner Kenny Bailey and his wife, Tina. Deputies said Kenney Bailey told them that the pit bull was police-trained and admitted later in the video that he would have shot the dog if placed in the same situation.
